Any questions or remarks you may email me directly (pp_o2--o2-pl, hyphens mean "at" and "dot" respectively) or left on The ISD Forum (hyperlink above).

Quote: (...) The Canon A590IS takes great photos. It has a built in image stabilizer that keeps you from taking shaky pictures that can ruin that special moment. This PowerShot digital camera is user friendly. Just set it in the AUTO Mode and point and shoot. That's it! It's that simple!

The A590IS also allows you to use the camera in a MANUAL Mode. They are Aperture priority and shutter priority. You can adjust the aperture or shutter speeds to see what the effects would be on the final picture. (...)

Quote: (...) The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LS80 has 8.1MP resolution and is equipped with 3x optical zoom (equivalent to a 33-100mm zoom on a 35mm film camera). An Easy Zoom button provides immediate access to the maximum 3x power of the optical zoom.

The LS80 features the MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) system that incorporates gyro sensors to detect hand-shake and shifts the lens system to compensate, preventing hand-shake from creating a blurry image. In addition, the LS80 compensates for the other major cause of blurry images --subject movement -- with the Intelligent ISO Control function which detects subject movement and adjusts the ISO setting and shutter speed to best suit the movement and light conditions automatically. Together, they form the Intelligent Image Stabilizer.

With Auto Macro, the LS80 automatically switches to macro mode when you get in close proximity to the photo subject.

Quick AF focuses on the subject even before you press the shutter release button to minimize AF time.

Intelligent LCD automatically adjusts the brightness of the LCD to the ambient light level.

The LS80 records WVGA (848 x 480) motion pictures at 30 frames per second to fit a wide-screen HDTV.

The LS80 runs on two supplied AA Alkaline batteries (180 pictures). Optional Oxyride batteries have a CIPA rating of 270 photos, optional rechargeable NiMH batteries have a CIPA rating of 470.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LS80 is affordable and perfect for the first-time user who desires an easy-to-use entry-level compact digital camera with image stabilization, 3x zoom and lots of useful (and "Intelligent") features. (...)
